"WHERE THE PAST MEETS THE PRESENT"

AREC 2024 Annual Show, Muster, & Parade

Well, we can take a breath now. The show was, I believe, a success. Final count was 40+ pieces of apparatus. The new Parade Route was perfect and we can’t talk about the parade without thanking the Pembroke Fire Department and Fire Chief Paul Gagnon. Also the Pembroke and Allenstown Police Departments.

Before I go on, if I miss anyone in this post please forgive me because this successful event is purely a result of many many people.
Huge thank you to Debby Miller for taking care of everything with the AREC booth. It would have NOT gone as well as it did without her hard work.

Thank you to the Central NH Fire Wardens Association for participating in our event.

Thank you to our Judges, Eric Fellows, Peter Kaczorowski, and Wayne Perkins.

Thank you to NH Fire Academy for hosting this event again this year and allowing us to use the facilities as well as putting there Apparatus on display. Certainly a crowd pleaser.

Hopkinton Fire Dept., and AREC Member Jake Martin for setting up their 3k gallon port-a-tank to pump from.

To all of the departments, and individuals with their apparatus and vehicles in the parade, on display and pumping… THANK YOU for without you there would be no show.

I appreciate and thank AREC Director Paul Sanborn for his hard work and helping me make sure nothing was missed and overseeing the show.
Our Safety Officer John Schlemmer. AREC Vice President Ricky Hippler, Treasurer Jeff Morse. AREC members Roger Davis, Gail Davis, David Hale, James Miller, Robert Moholland, Dale S. Morse, Scott Konkle, mark Mattice.

Another year and another successful show. Again if missed anyone I apologize and thank you.

And so, it begins. Show Season 2024. We started things off with what has turned out to be an Annual Event, our Dust’em Off 2024. What we lacked in numbers we certainly made up for with enthusiasm. Big shout out to Thornton Ring for making the trip from freeport Maine to join us.  It was a wonderful day of Friendship, Fellowship, and Fire Trucks.

On Saturday, May 4, 2024 a group of members met up at the Epsom Circle for an early morning breakfast, which provided an opportunity to get together and share some stories from the long winter.

After our stop in Epsom, we headed off to Alton Bay in a convoy.  This, unofficial, “annual road trip” gave us an opportunity to dust off the rigs and give them a little exercise after the long winter nap.

On our way to Alton, we picked up a couple more members and arrived in the bay, where we set up a static display of apparatus.  A few of the locals stopped by to say hi, some were surprised to see us, but were excited to see the trucks

While at the bay we held a short meeting before departing for home.

It was great to see everyone and, as always, great to see the trucks out and about.
